Farewell to a Master

It is with the heaviest of hearts that The Mosh Pit mourns the passing of Robin Williams. The man was an absolute genius and despite the demons of manic-depression and addiction he gave more to the lives of people of the world than most of us will give to our neighborhood. A model of strength, resilience and honesty, his final act is one that simply defies our imaginations. His candle would, of course, burned out one day, but it is too soon, and too abrupt and it hurts us to the core.

You will be missed Robin, but your light will shine many times longer than your presence on this planet. We love you brother, please rest in the peace you so painfully sought.

A Mosh Pit Legend Off To Conquer New Worlds

Those of you who visited the ‘Pit in its heyday might remember a particular love for the metal band GWAR.

Well, it’s with a sad heart that I report the lead singer, Dave “Oderus Urungus” Brockie has passed away at the all-too-young age of 50 from as-yet undetermined causes.

This really hits home, so Dave/Oderus… Don’t rest in peace. Keep kicking, stabbing, and rage-fucking every ass you come across wherever you are now.

We’ll all be on that road behind you…

Well, at least Patriotism is not yet dead. ROCK ON!

In this dark dark time for the USA, there is much to worry about, much to fret over, much to regret and perhaps much to fear. However, I believe our country is not yet dead and can once again stand strong in the face of danger, tyranny, oppression, strife, pressure, turmoil and defeat from outside or within. This little ditty reminds me of this. God Bless the USA, land of the free and home of the brave.

p.s. nor am I dead… yet …;)
