Inspired by Thrasher and many conversations with people who are always asking my “type” or “why do you prefer Asian women?” (and in my defense I clearly don’t have any racial preference (see below)), I have published MY laminated list, 2009 for your enjoyment.
- Gillian Anderson — She pretty much has everything that suits my taste in women. I was never a big fan of The X-Files, but I watched it religiously just to catch glimpses of her. When people ask “what is your ‘type,’” I invariably answer “Gillian Anderson.”
- Catherine Zeta Jones — Thrasher summed it up best. I would like to add that though her name is hyphenated Welsh, its the Zeta part that gives her the appeal she hold for me in looks…
- Michelle Yeoh — I had not seen her until she appeared in a Bond movie. After that I became so enamored with her that I made a point of watching all her movies. Not only is she stunningly beautiful, she also has a class and sophistication that are rare in many Asian actresses today and she has a grace and beauty of movement that can almost certainly be attributed to her ability to completely mop the floor with mere mortals.
- Beyoncé Knowles — I’m not sure why, but I think every time she appears, she looks just a little different, but its always totally awesome. I must say I’m quite disappointed that she married Jay-Z (As opposed to, say, me… or even some jobless, uneducated, beer swilling monkey-man; anyone but Jay-Z…), but one can’t have everything.
- Winona Ryder — Yes, she’s a bit off-kilter from time to time (most of the time?) but from Heathers until now, she has just knocked my socks off. I think its the eyes and the sweet, yet, sexy look that seems perpetually plastered to her face.
- Mimi Rogers — Another hottie I discovered through The X-Files (no wonder David Duchovny became a sex addict…) She looked so hot in that leather suit in Austin Powers, I about fainted.
- Elizabeth Hurley — Yes, I like Bond girls, but there are too many of them. Elizabeth Hurley, however rounds out my favorite “Powers Girls.” Intelligent, sophisticated, gorgeous, forgiving. What a woman, the accent helps too.
- Cindy Crawford — Been in love with Cindy since High School. The Superficial has a comment about her that she will be the hottest chick in the nursing home. She is aging nicely I must say. (She’ll be on here until I die.)
- Cate Blanchett — Not only do I personally know a woman in Taiwan that looks like the Asian version of her (almost exactly, especially that look in her eyes and that inviting mouth…), I happen to think that she is totally awesome in every roll I’ve seen her in. Again, it’s her grace, her inviting but challenging look, and her intensity that drive my appeal for her.
- Jessica Alba — I felt almost naughty watching Flipper. Now that she’s all growed up and legal-like, I gotta say WOW! Anyone that hot and mysterious-looking (her ethnicity is almost indeterminable), and anyone who can swim like she does and hold her breath that long (people who know me know what I am getting at) deserve an honored place on my list.
